Alvaro Alonso Ruiz

Alvaro Alonso Ruiz has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Alvaro is currently the Co-Founder & CCO at Leanspace SAS, where they are involved in building the digital infrastructure for the space industry. Prior to this, Alvaro was an Advisory Board Member for the Space Settlement division at Lifeboat Foundation, a foundation dedicated to advancing scientific advancements while ensuring humanity's survival from existential risks.

Alvaro also worked as a Coaching & Professional Development Collaborator Member at SIL (Start-ups, Innovation & Leadership) and held various roles at Telespazio VEGA Deutschland GmbH, including Commercial Manager at enable.space and Business Development Manager.

Before transitioning to the space industry, Alvaro worked as a Senior Project Manager at Barry Callebaut. Alvaro also served as an International Business Manager and Project Manager at ARIES INGENIERIA Y SISTEMAS.

Alvaro began their career as an R&D Engineer at Università di Roma La Sapienza and later worked as a Design Engineer at J.A.C. y Asociados, Arquitectura S.L.

Alvaro Alonso Ruiz has a diverse education history, spanning various fields of study and institutions. Alvaro pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Later, they completed a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the same institution. Furthering their education, Alvaro enrolled at Sapienza Università di Roma, specializing in Aeronautical Engineering, where they obtained a Master of Science degree.

Additionally, Alvaro participated in several specialized programs related to venture management and leadership. Alvaro attended the RealAcad programs at the National University of Singapore and Stanford University. Alvaro also completed a Venture Management & Leadership program from the same institution in the United States.

Alvaro's educational background extends beyond engineering and management. Alvaro received primary and secondary education in the English language at the British Council School. Furthermore, their passion for astrophysics led him to study the subject at The Australian National University.

To complement their education, Alvaro obtained various certifications. Alvaro received training in Spacecraft Operations from the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Alvaro also completed certifications in Managing Difficult Conversations, Strategic Management, Management Development, Business Communication, Project Management, and a Venture Management & Leadership program from Marbach, Germany. Moreover, they earned a Certificate of Proficiency in English from Cambridge University and an International Certificate of Education with merit. Additionally, they attained an International General Certificate of Secondary Education.

Recently, Alvaro received a Leanspace Certified Solutions Developer certification from Leanspace.
