Michael Haas

Michael Haas has significant experience in the field of biomedical research, with a focus on drug development and therapeutic antibodies. Michael has held various research roles at different companies throughout their career.

From 2017, Haas has been working at Leap Therapeutics, initially as a Senior Scientist and later promoted to Associate Director of Research. Michael'sresponsibilities included identifying and establishing cancer models for proof of concept studies, evaluating therapeutic antibodies in mouse models, and validating assays for mechanism of action studies.

Prior to their time at Leap Therapeutics, Haas worked at DecImmune Therapeutics from 2005 to 2016. Here, they secured significant funding for drug development and established a mouse model for evaluating heart injuries. Michael held the position of Senior Scientist during their tenure.

In 2012, Haas worked at GE Healthcare as an Application Scientist, providing expertise and support for Biacore instruments to academic and industry users. Michael conducted seminars and tutorials and collaborated with sales and engineering teams.

Haas began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Children's Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School, from 2002 to 2006. Michael'sresearch focused on insulin resistance and diabetes, involving the identification of phosphorylation sites in IRS-1 protein and investigating the role of p55PIK in insulin signaling.

Michael Haas earned a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences (Pharmacology) from The University of Toledo, specializing in the Department of Cardiovascular Biology and Metabolic Diseases, between 1998 and 2002. Prior to that, they obtained an M.S. in Medical Sciences (Biochemistry) from The University of Toledo, focusing on the Department of Biochemistry and Cancer Biology, from 1995 to 1998. Michael completed their undergraduate studies at Stonehill College, graduating with a B.S. degree in Biology between 1991 and 1995.
