Oliver Fairbrother

Operations Officer at LearnCoach

Oliver Fairbrother is the Operations Officer at LearnCoach. Oliver was previously the Co-Founder and CTO of ENTO.NZ from May 2018 to February 2019. ENTO.NZ's mission is to address the growing food sustainability crisis by making insect consumption mainstream in New Zealand. They reduce the cost of insect consumption within NZ by sourcing insects from farms right here in New Zealand, and then reduce the “ick” factor by producing food products such as patties and baked goods using powdered insects from those farms.

Fairbrother is a social entrepreneur driven by a strong desire to revolutionize agriculture. Oliver has worked on this project for more than six months and is acutely aware of the massive costs of traditional livestock to our planet. Insects like crickets and locusts convert food to bodyweight as much as nine times more efficiently than cattle, use around 6 times less land and consume 40-80% less water per kg of edible meat. Add to that a powerful nutritional punch, and an emissions footprint which is 1/1,800th of that created by traditional livestock and you have the recipe for agricultural revolution. The planet is changing, agriculture is changing, and at Ento they’re determined to place New Zealand right where it should be – at the heart of a true agricultural revolution.

Oliver Fairbrother earned their Bachelor's degree with First Class Honours in Biomedical Sciences Majoring in Functional Human Anatomy from the University of Otago.

Oliver Fairbrother works with Dean Watson - Head of Marketing, Claire Twyman - Head of content, and Mark Cameron - CTO. Their manager is Dave Cameron, CEO.
