Position Overview:
Due to the continued growth of projects in the Belfast area, we are seeking an experienced BMS Service Engineer to join our team. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Perform routine maintenance and updates for BMS hardware and software.

  • Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on existing sites to maintain system integrity.

  • Diagnose and rectify system malfunctions efficiently to minimise downtime.

  • Enhance system performance for maximum energy efficiency and occupant comfort.

  • Lead small to medium-sized upgrade projects, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of system configurations, updates, and maintenance activities.

  • Complete detailed PPM reports, including identifying and reporting remedial work.

  • Deliver regular performance updates and improvement suggestions to clients and management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Background

  • Degree in BMS Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • HND or equivalent in a technical discipline with relevant experience also considered.

       Technical Expertise

  • Hands-on experience with BMS platforms such as Trend, Tridium, Cylon, or Schneider.
  • In-depth understanding of HVAC systems, energy management, and automation.
  • Proficiency with protocols like BACnet, Modbus, and LON.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate in teams.
  • Capable of working independently and managing time efficiently.

Certifications

  • Relevant certifications such as Trend IQ, Niagara AX/N4, or equivalents.
  • Health and safety certifications (e.g., CSR, Manual Handling, or similar).

Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a BMS engineering role or similar.
  • You must be able to work in Ireland. This position can not be supported by sponsorship.
