Kathryn Ray possesses extensive experience in research and policy analysis, currently serving as the Head of Research at the Learning and Work Institute since June 2015. Prior to this role, Kathryn was a Senior Researcher at The Work Foundation, where leadership was provided in studying low pay, in-work poverty, and career progression from November 2013 to June 2015. Earlier experience includes a position as a Senior Research Fellow at the Policy Studies Institute, focusing on evaluating labour market programmes for disadvantaged workers from January 2004 to July 2013. Additional research roles were held at University College London and the University of Manchester, concentrating on work-life balance and social movements, respectively. Kathryn Ray holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and an MA in Social Research Methods from The University of Manchester, along with a BA (Hons) in Sociology and Anthropology from Durham University.
