Dibyayan was also a Research Intern at UNICEF, where they focused on the issue of malnutrition in tribal areas.

Early in their career, Dibyayan gained experience as an intern in various organizations, including Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action (YUVA), Apnalaya, and Children's Aid Society.

Dibyayan Datta has a diverse educational background in the field of social work. Dibyayan completed their Bachelor's Degree (B.S.W) in Social Work from the College of Social Work Nirmala Niketan 38 New Marine Lines Mumbai - 400 020. Dibyayan then pursued a Master of Arts in Social Work (M.A. SW) with a specialization in Children and Family Welfare at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Dibyayan later enrolled in the same institute as a PhD scholar, focusing on Social Work.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Dibyayan obtained several certifications and participated in various seminars and conferences related to their field. Dibyayan presented papers on topics such as Right to Education, Child Neglect, and Surrogacy and Reproductive Health in prominent institutions like the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) and the NALSAR Law University. Dibyayan also received appreciation certificates from the College of Social Work Nirmala Niketan for their valuable contributions in organizing field-based extension activities and participating in talks on Human Rights Education.
