Dr. Nishikant (Nish) Sonwalkar has a diverse range of work experience in various industries and roles. Dr. Nishikant (Nish) has served as the Co-Chairman of the EdTech Group at the MIT Enterprise Forum, where they focused on promoting dialogue and connections in the field of educational technology. Dr. Sonwalkar has also been an Entrepreneur Partner and Founder at the Venture Development Center, where they developed technology ventures in the EdTech industry. Dr. Nishikant (Nish) co-founded the LearnQuest Academy of Music and designed a six-year tabla proficiency program. In addition, Dr. Sonwalkar has been involved in various leadership roles at the MIT Club of Boston and Mary Ann Liebert Publishing. Dr. Nishikant (Nish) has extensive experience in research and education, having been the Director of Research at USDLA and a Research Affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Dr. Nishikant (Nish) has also held multiple roles at MIT, including as a Principal Educational Architect, Director of the Hypermedia Teaching Facility, and Research Scientist and Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Sonwalkar started their career as a Postdoc Fellow at MIT and a Research Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Nishikant (Nish)'sresearch interests include molecular dynamics, Raman spectroscopy, and scientific visualization.

Dr. Nishikant (Nish) Sonwalkar pursued their education in a disciplined manner, culminating in a Doctor of Science (Sc.D) degree in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This achievement took place from 1986 to 1992. Prior to this, they earned their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, which they attended from 1985 to 1986. Before their time at the University of Hawaii, Dr. Sonwalkar completed their studies at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where they obtained a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Energy Systems Engineering, which spanned from 1982 to 1985.
