James Jordan is an experienced educator and cultural arts professional with significant contributions in both teaching and organizational leadership. Currently serving as a Leave No Trace Trainer since April 2021, James previously taught Social Studies and Science at Ferndale Middle School from August 2006 to November 2021, where accolades included being named Ferndale Teacher of the Year in 2020-21 and coordinating the nationally recognized Gift of Giving Grant Project. Extensive experience includes roles such as Executive Director at the Edgecombe County Cultural Arts Council and various curatorial positions, including Curator of Decorative Arts at The Mint Museum. James holds a Master’s degree in American History and Museum Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and has pursued additional education in nonprofit management at Duke University.
