Sebastiano Pantò has a diverse work experience in the field of analytical chemistry. Sebastiano started their career as a tirocinante at Università mediterranea di Reggio Calabria in 2009. Sebastiano then worked as a researcher at the University of Barcelona in 2010. Sebastiano completed their Ph.D. at Università degli Studi di Messina from 2011 to 2013, where they also served as a post-doctoral researcher from 2014 to 2015. During their time at Università degli Studi di Messina, they were involved in the development of new analytical instrumentation and methods for the identification of pure molecules from food waste. Sebastiano also conducted a post-doctoral fellowship at Chromaleont srl c/o Università degli Studi di Messina in 2015, where they focused on the development of analytical methods for the determination of emerging contaminants in foods. Currently, they are the Head of Separation Science Applications Europe at LECO since February 2022. In their previous role at LECO, Sebastiano worked as an application chemist, specializing in various TOFMS technologies and their application across different fields such as environmental, flavor and fragrance, petrochemical, metabolomic, and food analysis.

Sebastiano Pantò pursued their education in Italy, starting with a degree in "Laurea in biologia degli alimenti e della nutrizione" in the field of "Alimenti e nutrizione" from Jobs in Italy from 2004 to 2009. Sebastiano then went on to earn a PhD in "food chemistry and safety" from Jobs in Italy between 2011 and 2014.
