Demetrius Hicks B.S., MEDL is a dedicated educator with extensive experience in special education, currently serving as an SLC Special Education Teacher at Sharpstown High School since August 2024, focusing on students with Autism and Pervasive Disorders. In addition to this role, Demetrius is a Dojo Tutor, providing personalized online tutoring for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. As a member of Leadership for Educational Equity and founder of the Trail-Riders STOP the Violence Campaign, Demetrius advocates for safety and policy reform. Previous roles include Teacher Advocacy Captain and Special Education Teacher at YES Prep Public Schools, mentoring new teachers and representing campus needs. Demetrius's educational background includes degrees in Special Education Leadership from the University of St. Thomas and a BS in Human Services from Texas Southern University.
