Laurie Harper

Director Of Education at LEECH LAKE BAND OF OJIBWE

Laurie Harper has extensive work experience in various roles within Native American communities. Laurie began their career as the Director for Anishinaabe Wi Yung in 1997 and held the position until 2006. From 2005 to 2008, Laurie served as the Tribal Enrollment Director for Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. Following this, they worked as the Program Manager for St. Croix Tribe from 2008 to 2011. Laurie then became the Executive Director for Wicoie Nandagikendan in 2011. Laurie transitioned to the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe in 2012 and served as a WEX Case Manager until 2016. Currently, Laurie holds the position of Director of Education for Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, a role they have been in since October 2017.

Laurie Harper holds a Master's Degree in MPA-PAL from the University of Minnesota, which they obtained from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they pursued a BA in Public Policy at NAES College from 2000 to 2005. In 1997, they attended Bemidji State University, focusing on Accounting and Finance. Laurie began their educational journey at Leech Lake Tribal College, where they received an Associate of Arts (AA) in Business Administration & Entrepreneurship from 1995 to 1997.
