Waqar Ali

Waqar Ali, FCCA, is an experienced finance professional currently serving as the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis at Leeds Building Society since December 2022. With a strong background in financial planning and analysis, Waqar previously held the position of Senior Manager/VP Financial Planning & Analysis at Lloyd's, where responsibilities included overseeing budgeting and forecasting for 35 offices and enhancing finance policies. Prior to that, roles at Moody's Corporation involved managing financial analysis for various projects, including the EMEA region and supporting the ESG business. Waqar's earlier positions included Group Financial Planning Manager at Yorkshire Building Society, where the focus was on delivering the group's 5-year financial plan and cash liquidity reporting, as well as various roles at Capita Asset Services, enhancing fund accounting processes. Waqar holds an ACCA qualification and a degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Leeds.
