Douglas Muzawazi

Douglas Muzawazi currently serves as the Director of Student Communities at Leeds University Union since February 2021, overseeing engagement with student communities and managing strategic opportunities in student leadership. Previously, Douglas held the position of Head of Student Engagement at LUU, contributing to the management of democratic engagement and student programs. Douglas has extensive experience in student services, having worked as Head of Student Opportunities and Skills & Development Manager at Sheffield Hallam Students' Union, as well as gaining leadership experience as Chair of the NUS Black Staff Network and as a trustee for the Element Society. Additional roles include General Manager at 1st Base Entertainment and various positions focused on student employability and event management. Douglas holds a Postgraduate Diploma in International Events and Conference Management and a BSc (Hons) in Sport Business Management from Sheffield Hallam University.
