LEEP Forward & Quantum LEEP Academy
LEEP specializes in treating children with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, ADHD, regulatory disorders, and children that experience challenges with learning, peer interaction and sensory processing. We provide therapeutic experiences for sensational children through the DIR/floortime approach. Programs encourage regulation, social engagement and peer interaction as well as promote individual growth as it limits are expanded and horizons are broadened. Our goal is provide comprehensive and individualized programs for the child and the family to reduce transitions, enhance relationships, and to foster spontaneous, mutually enjoyed, reciprocal interactions between members of a peer group. We introduce vocabulary and concepts in the following areas; emotional regulation, monitoring internal states, self-concept and self-esteem, character development, social awareness, negotiation, and compromise. We provide a structured environment for both preschool and K-5th grades, while also following the children lead by facilitating naturally occurring play experiences, discussions and conversations within academic course work. Language development is encouraged by choosing activities involving expressive and receptive language, non verbal communication, metalinguistic skills and sequencing skills. At LEEP we create activities that teach and encourage perspective- taking. Perspective taking can be a challenging concept for many of our children but it is a vital skill in maintaining and expanding meaningful interactions. Its our hope to provide a safe and supportive environment where children are able to process their thoughts and feelings while learning and having fun and building the academic foundations for success.
