Leia R. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Leia started their career as a Runner at ESPN in 2010 and later worked as a Stage Manager for Fox Sports. In 2012, they interned as an Athletic Media Relations Intern at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Leia then transitioned into the field of marketing, working as an Account Executive at Sinclair Broadcast Group in 2013. Leia further expanded their marketing skills as a Marketing Coordinator at Heritage South Credit Union from 2014 to 2017, where they were responsible for various marketing tasks such as creating awareness, coordinating promotional activities, and managing digital marketing efforts. In 2017, Leia joined Legacy Community Federal Credit Union, initially as a Marketing Specialist and later as an Assistant Director and currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Marketing & Business Development. On top of their professional roles, they also served as a Board Member and Secretary for the Young Professional Group at LSCU Birmingham Chapter of Credit Unions. Leia's work experience demonstrates their ability to adapt and excel in different roles within the marketing and business development field.
Leia R. completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, General at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from the years 2008 to 2012. Leia also obtained certifications such as Credit Union Certified Marketing Executive (CUCME) from the Credit Union National Association in October 2017, and Getting Started with InDesign from LinkedIn in October 2016.

Legacy opened its doors as University Credit Union in 1955 to serve the UAB community. After serving the education and healthcare industries for more than 50 years, the credit union expanded its field of membership to include the 7-county Greater Birmingham Metropolitan Area and changed its name to Legacy Community Federal Credit Union at the beginning of 2006. Now anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Jefferson, Shelby, Blount, St. Clair, Walker, Chilton, and Bibb counties is eligible for membership.
