Lisa Wassell, PHR has over 20 years of work experience in the field of human resources. Lisa began their career in 1998 as an Employee Benefits Coordinator at Clayton Youth Enrichment Services, where they worked until 2012. In 2012, they joined JPS Health Network as a Benefits Coordinator and also took on the role of Human Resources, Employee Health Specialist. In 2015, Wassell transitioned to Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, where they initially worked as a Human Resources Generalist before being promoted to the position of Director of Human Resources.

Lisa Wassell, PHR has a comprehensive education history in the field of Human Resources and related areas. From 2013 to 2015, they attended Western Governors University and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2010, they attended Dallas Baptist University and earned a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification. Additionally, from 2005 to 2009, they attended Tarrant County College and received an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections.

In terms of certifications, Lisa received the Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) certification from HRCI in August 2020. Lisa also holds various other certifications, including Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences from LinkedIn obtained in June 2019, and CompTIA certifications obtained in December 2015 (CompTIA) and September 2015 (CompTIA Project+ Certification). Lastly, they obtained the Professional in Human Resources, PHR certification from the HR Certification Institute in December 2010.

Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas provides free civil legal services to eligible low-income residents in 114 Texas counties. With offices in Abilene, Amarillo, Brownwood, Dallas, Denton, Fort Worth, Lubbock, McKinney, Midland, Odessa, Plainview, San Angelo, Waxahachie, Weatherford, and Wichita Falls, LANWT is the fifth-largest Legal Aid program in the United States. People can apply for help by calling our Legal Aid Line, online through our website, or by attending one of our many afternoon and evening legal clinics throughout our service area. Our staff and pro bono volunteers are committed to delivering effective and efficient legal help to qualified applicants.
