Ashleigh Pelto is a dedicated legal professional with extensive experience in serving vulnerable populations, particularly survivors of human trafficking. Since September 2024, Ashleigh has worked as a Staff Attorney at Legal Aid of Western Michigan, managing a litigation caseload and conducting intake appointments. Previous roles include a Part-Time Legal Associate at ALIGHT, where responsibilities involved supporting legal cases for trafficking survivors, and a Human Trafficking Fellow at Greater Boston Legal Services, providing critical direct legal assistance and engaging in legislative advocacy. Ashleigh has also held leadership positions, such as Co-Chair of the Human Trafficking Subcommittee at the Boston Bar Association, and completed a Fellowship at DOVE, Inc. focused on expanding domestic violence services. Ashleigh holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Michigan Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education from Grand Valley State University.
