Human Resources Business Partner/recruitment Team Lead at Legal Aid Ontario

Mike Muir has a diverse work experience in the field of Human Resources. Mike started their career as a Human Resources Associate at the City of Kingston in 2012 and worked there until 2015. Mike then joined WilsonHCG as a Recruitment Specialist, where they provided talent acquisition services to clients. In 2016, they became an HR Coordinator at Infrastructure Ontario for a short period of time. Later in the same year, they joined Legal Aid Ontario as a Recruitment Coordinator and eventually progressed to become a Human Resources Business Partner/Recruitment Team Lead. In this role, Mike supervised and mentored the recruitment team, developed recruitment strategies, and implemented effective techniques for identifying top talent. Mike also collaborated with HR advisors and corporate clients to determine recruitment needs and analyze workforce gaps. Throughout their career, Mike has demonstrated strong skills in recruitment, selection, and strategic planning in the field of Human Resources.

Mike Muir obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History from the University of Guelph, where they studied from 2008 to 2011. Mike completed their Business Administration degree with a specialization in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General at St. Lawrence College from 2011 to 2012. In addition to their formal education, Mike also holds certifications in Creating Accessible Documents from Learning Brick, Cultural Competency Training from HRPA, Defusing Anger, Resistance and Hostility from All Canadian Training Institute Inc., and Targeted Selection Interviewing from Development Dimensions Institute.
