Emily Pinerola Lancaster currently serves as a Staff Attorney in the Government Benefits Unit at the Legal Aid Society, where responsibilities include representing clients facing program violations related to food stamps and assisting with disability and Social Security hearings. Previously, Emily worked in the Housing Unit at the Legal Aid Society, represented clients in the Adult Felony Unit at the Louisville Metro Public Defender, and completed externships at the Kentucky Innocence Project and the Louisville Metro Public Defender. Emily's academic background includes a Doctor of Law from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville, and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Spanish Language and Literature and Psychology from Samford University. Additionally, Emily has held roles focused on human rights advocacy, legal research, and social work, demonstrating a commitment to supporting vulnerable populations.
