Lunga Marenene started their work experience in 2003 as a Legal Intern at Legal Aid South Africa. Lunga then became a Candidate Attorney in July 2004 and held this position until June 2006. In 2007, Lunga became a Legal Practitioner at Legal Aid South Africa, specializing in Regional Court cases. From September 2012 to April 2014, they were a Regional Court Legal Practitioner. In April 2014, they transitioned to the role of Supervisory Legal Practitioner. Since January 2019, Lunga has been serving as the Head of Office at Legal Aid South Africa.
Lunga Marenene attended the University of Fort Hare from 1998 to 2002, where they pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with a specialization in law.
