David Barron

Head Of US Index Solutions at LGIM America

David Barron has a strong background in investment management, with extensive experience in index equity and smart beta strategies. David is currently the Head of US Index Solutions at LGIM America, a position they have held since December 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Head of Index Equity & Smart Beta at Legal & General Investment Management from October 2017 to December 2021. Before joining LGIM, they worked as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Legal & General Investment Management America from March 2015 to October 2017.

David also has experience at Northern Trust Asset Management, where they held the roles of Vice President and 2nd Vice President. In these positions, they were responsible for managing a suite of global equity ETFs, minimizing tracking error, and creating customized derivative-based solutions for institutional clients.

Prior to their time at Northern Trust, David worked as an Associate at BNY Mellon. David began their career in the industry as an Intern at Harbor Drive Asset Management, where they assisted with marketing, client services, and research analysis.

Throughout their career, David Barron has developed strong expertise in index solutions, equity management, and derivative-based solutions for institutional clients.

David Barron completed their undergraduate education from 2004 to 2008 at Colgate University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Economics and a minor in Mathematics. David is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics at Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering, with an expected completion date between 2023 and 2025. Additionally, David has additional certifications including the Alternative Investment Analyst Charter (CAIA Charter) from the CAIA Association and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter from the CFA Institute. The specific dates of obtaining these certifications are unknown.
