Aliyah Salame is a dedicated legal professional with extensive experience in various legal roles. Currently serving as a Staff Attorney at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri since September 2022, Aliyah provides counsel to clients facing the loss of public benefits and represents them in agency hearings and circuit court appeals. Prior experience includes positions as a Student Attorney at the Duke Immigrant Rights Clinic, where Aliyah co-wrote an asylum declaration and a Ninth Circuit brief, and at the Duke Health Justice Clinic, offering legal assistance to low-income individuals with health conditions. Aliyah’s early legal experience also includes internships at the Council for Children's Rights and the Jefferson County Public Defender’s Office, alongside a significant internship at the European Parliament focusing on human rights. Aliyah holds a Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in International Comparative Studies from Duke University.
