Elizabeth Larsen has a diverse and extensive work experience. Elizabeth has worked at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri since 2016, starting as a Program Director for the Advocates for Family Health program. In this role, they represent children and families in administrative appeals for Medicaid services and supervises project staff. Elizabeth also worked as an Attorney in the Public Benefits Program, where they advocated for low-income individuals in resolving issues with public benefits. Elizabeth has also served as an Attorney in the Youth and Family Advocacy Program, providing legal assistance to unaccompanied youth in various areas. Elizabeth was a Program Director for the Connecting Kids to Coverage Grant Program, overseeing outreach and enrollment efforts for Medicaid coverage.
Prior to their work at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, Elizabeth had roles at SLU LAW as a Rule 13 Certified Advocate in the Children and Youth Advocacy Clinic and as a Faculty Fellow. Additionally, they worked as a Legal Intern at the Children's Legal Alliance and the Connecting Kids to Coverage program at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri. Elizabeth also gained experience as a Legal Extern with the Office of Regional Counsel at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and as a Legal Intern at Missouri State Public Defender.
Elizabeth's earliest work experience was as a Lead Research Assistant at Iowa State University, where they conducted research studies in the Department of Psychology.
Elizabeth Larsen completed their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with a Health Law Concentration from Saint Louis University School of Law in the years 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Iowa State University from 2009 to 2013, with a major in Psychology and minors in English and Political Science. Additionally, they obtained their Missouri Bar License in September 2016 from The Missouri Bar.

Legal Services of Eastern Missouri advances justice through legal representation, education and supportive services. We partner with the community to improve lives, promote fairness and create opportunities for those in need. With offices in St. Louis, Clayton, Union and Hannibal, Legal Services serves 21 counties in eastern Missouri with a range of legal programs including: Advocates for Family Health, Children's Legal Alliance, Community Economic Development Program, Connecting Kids to Coverage, Consumer Law Program, Education Justice Program, Elder Law Program, Family Court Program, Housing Law Program, Immigration Law Program, Lasting Solutions Family Law Program, Legal Advocates for Adults with Mental Illness Program, Marketplace Assistance Program, Medical-Legal Partnership, Public Benefits Program and the Youth & Family Advocacy Program. In 2016, Legal Services helped more than 31,000 Missourians, with over 12,000 helped through direct case work and an additional 19,000 helped through outreach, education, publications and referrals. 15,791 volunteer hours were provided by more than 520 individuals.
