Karen K. has extensive experience in housing law, currently serving as Regional Counsel for Housing at Legal Services of Northern California since April 2023. Prior to this role, Karen was the Supervising Attorney for Housing at the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley from February 2021 to March 2023 and worked as a Staff Attorney at Legal Services of Northern California from September 2014 to February 2021. Karen began their career in education as a Teacher at San Francisco Head Start from August 2008 to July 2011, having joined through the Teach for America program. Karen holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Psychology from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.

Since 1956 Legal Services of Northern California (LSNC) has provided quality legal services that empower the poor to identify and defeat the causes and effects of poverty. Legal Services of Northern California serves 23 counties in Northern California with nine office locations located in Sacramento, Auburn, Chico, Eureka, Grass Valley, Redding, Ukiah, Vallejo and Woodland. LSNC engages in creative collaborations with other legal services programs, community organizations, and government agencies, including court-based in pro per assistance.
