Legal Voice
Founded in 1978 as the Northwest Women's Law Center, Legal Voice envisions a world where every woman and girl enjoys economic, social, and political equality. Legal Voice fights for gender liberation across the Northwest. From courtrooms to the court of public opinion, we challenge patriarchal and racist power structures to widen pathways to justice. We currently operate on three major fronts: Lawsuits: We bring cases that change the law or the way a law is interpreted, creating an impact for others in the community. Advocacy: We draft and advocate for policies that improve the lives of our community, and defend against bills that will roll back the progress we've made. Education: We educate communities about their rights through community forums, collaborations, and free know-your-rights materials.
