Joe Fernandes

Joe Fernandes, PhD, currently serves as the Group Chief Investment Officer and Executive General Manager at Australian Unity Wealth and has held key positions at various organizations, including Non-Executive Director at Acorn Capital Ltd and Independent Expert on the Investment Committee at legalsuper. With extensive experience in investment management, Fernandes was previously Managing Director and CEO at First State Investments and occupied senior roles at First Sentier Investors and Colonial First State, where Joe contributed to the establishment of Colonial First State Asset Management Australia. Early in their career, Fernandes worked as an Investment Consultant and Head of Hedge Fund Research at Mercer. Fernandes holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Monash University, along with advanced leadership qualifications from Melbourne Business School and AGSM @ UNSW Business School.
