David Schizer is the fourteenth dean of the Columbia Law School. Dean Schizer is also the Harvey R. Miller Professor of Law and Economics, and has previously been the Lucy G. Moses Professor of Law and the Wilbur H. Friedman Professor of Tax Law. Dean Schizer is one of the nation’s leading experts in tax law, and has written more than 27 books and articles on taxation and governance. He has served on the Tax Club, the Tax Forum, and the executive committee of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section. He clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg for the 1994–95 term. He is a graduate of Yale University, where he earned his B.A., M.A., and J.D.
