Gopal Sundaram

CTO at Legion Technologies

Gopal Sundaram is the current CTO at Legion Technologies. Gopal has over 25 years of experience in the field of software engineering, and has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry.

Sundaram started their career as a member of technical staff at ESRI, where they worked on graph algorithms and geometric algorithms applicable to geographical information systems. Gopal then moved on to the University of Montreal as a post-doctoral fellow, where they worked on computational biology and string algorithms for genome sequencing.

In January 2000, Sundaram joined SAP as a suite architect for the Procurement LOB. Gopal was responsible for architecting various procurement cloud and on-premise applications from the ground up, including sourcing, procurement, contract authoring and compliance, invoicing, supplier management, and supplier performance management. One of their main focuses was on cross-cutting concerns for cloud applications, such as high availability, zero downtime, migration, performance, scalability, and self-service customization.

Sundaram left SAP in April 2016 to join Legion Technologies as their CTO. In this role, they are responsible for leading the company's technical strategy and direction. Gopal is also responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of Legion Technologies' products and services.

Gopal Sundaram received their PhD in Computer Science and Operations Research from Stony Brook University and their B.E in Computer Science & Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc).

They work with Amer Moorhead - SVP, General Counsel, Michael Spataro - Chief Delivery Officer, and Mimi Lo - Chief of Staff. Gopal Sundaram reports to Sanish Mondkar, Founder & CEO. Thomas Joseph - Head of Data Science, Kshitij Dayal - SVP of Engineering & Operations, and Sandeep Chakravarty - VP of Engineering report to Gopal Sundaram.
