Mason Sexton

Mason Sexton has a diverse range of work experience in the construction industry. Mason began their career as a Civil Engineering Technologist at Land Design Engineering Services from 1988 to 1994, where they gained proficiency in autocad and manual drafting. From 2004 to 2007, they worked as an Estimator/Project Manager at Cooper Construction Company, Inc., specializing in water, sewer, water treatment, wastewater treatment, and storm drainage projects. From 2007 to 2012, they served as an Estimator/Project Manager/Operations Manager at Moore & Son Site Contractors, Inc., focusing on construction estimation and project management. Mason then joined DeVere Construction Company, Inc. as a Project Manager/Business Development professional, responsible for takeoffs, estimates, bid documents, and contract writing from 2012 to 2014. From 2015 to 2021, Mason worked as a Project Manager II at Duke Energy Corporation, managing projects, overseeing safety and environmental regulations, ensuring permit compliance, and maintaining records. Most recently, they have been a Project Manager at CORIX Group of Companies, leading project management efforts. In 2023, Mason will join Lehrer Cumming as a Project Director.

Mason Sexton has a background in Civil Engineering Technology / Surveying and Electrical / Mining Engineering Technology. However, the exact years of their education at Central Piedmont Community College and Southwest Virginia Community College are unknown. In addition to their education, Mason has obtained several certifications including Certified Manager of Landfill Operations from NCDEQ in February 2020, Certificated Private Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration, General Contractor from the North Carolina General Contractors Licensing Board, and Highway Contractor from the North Carolina General Contractors Bo. Mason also holds certifications from North Carolina State University, such as NC Level I E&SC Certification, NC Level II E&SC Certification, and NC Level III E&SC Certification. Furthermore, Mason has certifications from NCDOT, including NCDOT Work Zone Flagger Trainer Certification and NCDOT Work Zone Supervisor Certification. Mason has also completed OSHA training, specifically OSHA 10 HR Highway Training and OSHA 30 HR Training. Moreover, Mason has obtained a certification as a Public Utility Contractor from the NC General Contractor Board.
