Dr. Alessia Besford

Dr. Alessia Besford is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the medical devices sector, currently serving as Head of Product Research at B. Braun Group since January 2021, leading a team focused on extracorporeal blood treatment and infusion systems. Dr. Besford also serves as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Leibniz-Institut für Polymerforschung Dresden, specializing in bio- and hemocompatible materials. Previous roles include a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, where research centered around polymeric materials for targeted cancer therapy and immunotherapy. Dr. Besford holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Melbourne and has a strong educational background in polymer science and colloid chemistry from the University of Bayreuth.
