Volker Schweikhard

Volker Schweikhard is a seasoned professional in the field of microscopy and physics with extensive experience in both academic and industry settings. Currently serving as the Product Application Manager at Leica Microsystems since December 2017, Volker was instrumental in the launch of the STELLARIS 8 CRS - Coherent Raman Scattering Microscope in July 2021. Prior to this role, Volker worked as a Research Assistant Professor at Rice University from January 2013 to June 2017, where innovative multiplexed immunofluorescence and superresolution microscopy techniques were developed to investigate protein distributions and dynamics within cells. Volker's academic journey includes a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University from October 2009 to November 2012, focused on single-molecule optical trapping assays related to gene transcription. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder, complemented by degrees in Physics from the University of Stuttgart and an exchange year at The University of Manchester.
