Uwe Schaaf, Dr. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of Research and Development (R&D), Design, Quality Assurance (QA), and Innovation. Uwe started their career at Philips in 1992 as a Project Manager for Electrical Drives & Power Electronics, focusing on predevelopment of new drive systems for different applications. Uwe then moved to Gillette, Braun GmbH in 1996, where they held various roles including Project Manager for Advanced Electronics, Innovation Section Head for Braun Dry Shavers and Female Epilators, and Development Section Head for Gillette Battery Razors. During their time at Gillette, they played a key role in defining the innovation strategy, developing new product concepts, and creating innovative features such as Precision Comfort Blades and ActiveLift for Braun shavers. In 2007, Uwe joined Procter & Gamble, Braun GmbH, where they served as the Innovation & Laboratory Section Head for Braun Dry Shavers and later became the Development Section Head for Household Appliances, taking complete responsibility for Braun household appliances. From 2014, Uwe has been working at Leifheit AG as the Director of R&D, Design, and QA, leading the complete R&D responsibility for Leifheit and Soehnle products. Uwe has successfully led industrial design, ensured quality assurance in production, and introduced innovative products such as the world's first window and bath vac with IPX7 water tightness and battery-driven vacuum cleaners.

Uwe Schaaf, Dr. obtained their Dipl.-Phys. degree in Physics from the Technical University Darmstadt in 1988. Uwe further pursued their education and completed their Dr. phil. nat. degree in Physics from J.W. Goethe University, Frankfurt in 1991.
