Gift Salami has a work experience beginning in 2016 as a Customer Service Representative at Jumia Group. In 2018, Gift was promoted to the role of Vendor Relations Specialist at Jumia Nigeria. In 2021, Gift became the Assistant Team Lead at Jumia Nigeria before leaving the company. Currently, Gift is working as a Customer Service Team Lead at Lemonade Finance, starting in December 2022.

Gift Salami earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Economics from Ekiti State University, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, Gift Salami has obtained various certifications related to data analysis and soft skills. These include a Data Analysis internship focused on Microsoft Excel and PowerBI, obtained from Side Hustle in September 2022. Gift also completed a Jobberman Soft-Skills Training in September 2022. Gift Salami obtained certifications in Data Analysis with Microsoft Excel and SQL from CyberSafe Foundation in August 2022. In April 2022, they completed certifications in Data Analysis in Excel and Introduction to SQL from DataCamp.
