Sahar Bou-Ghazale, Ph.D. has extensive experience in the field of speech and audio technology. Sahar is currently serving as the Head of Technology Innovation at LENA since March 2020. Prior to that, they founded VoiceIt LLC in 2016, where they were responsible for technology roadmap development and systems design for audio communication and voice recognition products. Sahar also worked at Conexant from 2011 to 2015 as a Distinguished Engineer - DSP Senior Systems Architect, where they developed and patented a low-power, always-on audio processing system and led the project for passing the Unified Skype/Lync on the first laptop running AudioSmart CX3803 software. Sahar has also held various roles at Broadcom, Skyworks Solutions, Conexant Systems, Rockwell Semiconductor Systems, and Duke University, where they conducted research and developed algorithms for speech recognition and speaker identification.
Sahar Bou-Ghazale, Ph.D. holds a Doctorate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, which they obtained from Duke University in the years 1993 to 1996. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in the same field at Duke University from 1991 to 1993. Their undergraduate education was at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from 1988 to 1991.
