Chief Risk Officer at Lending Works

Ines Maia currently serves as the Chief Risk Officer at Lending Works. Ines has over twelve years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on credit risk management.

Ines began their career in 2007 as a consultant with Deloitte. Ines worked with banks of all sizes on strategic and operational projects spanning a variety of areas within the financial sector. In 2010, they joined Cofidis as a Credit Risk Controller. In this role, Ines was responsible for ensuring that the organization’s portfolio performance remained within appetite, including managing the impairment charge.

In 2013, Ines joined TSB Bank as a Senior Credit Risk Manager. As part of the senior leadership team, they were responsible for delivering the Credit Risk function for TSB. This included setting risk appetite and achieving significant strategic objectives, while also shaping and motivating the team. Ines remained with TSB until February 2019.

In 2019, Ines was appointed as the Chief Risk Officer at Lending Works. In this role, they are responsible for leading the organization’s risk management function and providing strategic direction on risk management issues.

Ines Maia has a Master Statistics and Information Management from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a Degree in Information Management from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.

They work with Luis Felipe Farfan - CTO, Donna Quinn - Head of Compliance, and Matthew Powell - Co-Founder & CFO. Ines Maia reports to Nick Harding, Co-Founder & CEO. and Andrew Long - Credit Risk Manager reports to Ines Maia.
