Roger Steinert

Roger Steinert, M.D., currently is a vice chairman of clinical ophthalmology; director of refractive, cornea, and cataract surgery; and professor of ophthalmology and biomedical engineering at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center.

He is internationally known for his research and clinical expertise in the fields of cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, and refractive surgery. He has published more than 120 peer-reviewed journal articles, more than 60 book chapters, and four textbooks. Dr. Steinert recently completed his term as president of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and is now program chair of its annual meeting.
