Alfredo Mendez is a seasoned electrical engineer with extensive experience in designing military and commercial hardware and firmware, particularly in the realm of infrared technologies. Currently serving as a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer at Leonardo DRS since April 2007, Alfredo holds a Secret Clearance and leads FPGA initiatives for Advanced Survivability Platforms. Alfredo's previous roles include Principal Electrical Engineer at L3 Communications, where design work encompassed infrared camera hardware and software, and Principal Consulting Engineer at Texas Instruments, focusing on digital image processing algorithms for next-generation video technology. Alfredo's career spans various notable organizations, including Abbott Laboratories, Elbit Fort Worth, and Metera Networks, showcasing expertise in areas such as ASIC design, FPGA development, and hardware integration. Alfredo earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Old Dominion University between 1986 and 1988.
