Bryon Spells

Bryon Spells is a Senior System Engineer at Leonardo DRS since October 2024, with previous experience as a Hybrid Systems Engineer at Flux Hybrids from August 2021 to October 2024, where responsibilities included designing and integrating high torque drivetrain components. Spells has a background as a Graduate Student at Stanford University, focusing on vehicle powertrain design and machine learning model development, as well as a prior role at North Carolina State University as a PhD student in mechanical engineering. Early experience includes work as an Undergraduate Research Scholar at the FREEDM Systems Center, developing models for electric vehicles and serving as Founding Director of the SolarPack team. Additionally, internships at EVX Ventures and Eastman Chemical Company provided valuable foundational engineering experience. Spells holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Engineering from North Carolina State University.
