Lerner David
Jordan Riviello, a partner with the firm, counsels clients in the biomedical and mechanical fields, with a primary focus on medical device technologies involving orthopedic and cardiovascular systems, robotics, artificial intelligence and automated fulfillment. His practice encompasses a variety of intellectual property law, including U.S. and foreign patent prosecution as well as patentability and freedom-to-operate analysis to assist clients in understanding the scope of potential patent protection and to avoid infringement.
Prior to joining the firm, Jordan applied his biomedical engineering background while working as a research assistant at the Laboratory for Computational Diagnostics at Stony Brook University. As a research assistant, Jordan designed and conducted experiments utilizing neuroimaging techniques to analyze neural patterns for the early detection of neurological and psychiatric disorders. While in law school, Jordan worked in the Technology and Transfer Office at The Ohio State University where he vetted potential inventions based on commercial potential.
Jordan leans on these past experiences and his legal training to quickly understand and appreciate complex inventions and formulate strategies that carve out a market area aligned with each client’s specific business objectives.
