Lara Prentice has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Lara started their career in 1998 as a Travel Consultant at House of Travel and went on to work as a Senior Consultant at Business World Travel New Zealand. Lara then joined Club Travel - HRG Ireland as a Team Leader and Senior Travel Consultant.
In 2005, Lara joined APX Travel Management where they took on multiple roles including Customer Service Manager, Trainer, and Senior Corporate Consultant. Lara then moved to Pernod Ricard as a Human Resources Advisor and Customer Relations Manager, where they provided generalist HR support and managed the Customer Services Team.
Lara's next job was at The University of Auckland, where they worked as a Human Resources Advisor and later as a Human Resources Manager. In these roles, they provided HR support to the Dean and Senior Leadership Team, managed employment relations, and implemented staff development programs.
In 2017, Lara took on the role of Activator at SheEO™, a global initiative supporting female entrepreneurs. Lara also joined Les Mills New Zealand as a People & Performance Manager, responsible for developing and delivering HR initiatives and supporting managers across the organization.
Currently, Lara holds the position of Head of People & Performance at Les Mills New Zealand, where they play a key role in implementing the people strategy, developing policies, and driving best practices in the HR space.
Lara Prentice's education history begins in 1997-1998 when they studied at the Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS) and obtained an Advanced Diploma in Travel & Tourism. In 2012-2017, they attended Unitec | Te Pūkenga, where they earned a Graduate Diploma in Business with a major in HR, focusing on Human Resources Management and Services. In 2014, Lara participated in the Women in Leadership Programme at The University of Auckland. Most recently, in 2020, they pursued the Strategic People Programme - Executive Education at The University of Auckland, specializing in Human Resources Management and Services.
