Alawnna McDaniel is the Director of Youth Services at Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House. Alawnna has over ten years of experience working in education and counseling, with a focus on admissions and recruitment. Alawnna began their career as an Educational Advocate with Land of Lincoln Legal Aid/Americorps, where they worked with low-income families to ensure access to quality education. Alawnna then became an Admissions Counselor & Recruiter at Greenville University, where they helped students select degree programs and coordinated donation efforts to aid newly enrolled students. In their current role, they oversee all youth programming at Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House, including after-school and summer programs, college readiness initiatives, and workforce development programs.

Alawnna McDaniel has a post graduate certificate in leading effective teams from Washington University in St. Louis. Alawnna also has a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from South University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Greenville University. Alawnna is currently working on their Doctoral in Business Administration from South University.
