Ian Olliffe serves as the Associate Editorial Director for the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine, overseeing the peer review process and enhancing operational efficiency through a comprehensive editorial project management system. In addition to editorial leadership, Ian works as a Medical Scribe at Optum, documenting patient encounters for Spanish-speaking clients, and holds roles at UCI Health as a Research Study Liaison for food insecurity and as an Emergency Medicine Research Assistant. Experience also includes an internship in Interpreter Services at Providence Mission Hospital, and a volunteer position as a Back Office Medical Assistant at Lestonnac Free Clinic. Ian's academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and Spanish from UC Irvine, alongside a Medical Assistant Certification and significant research experience.
