Steve Georgas, CPP, CSSP has extensive work experience in security and law enforcement. Steve is currently serving as the Chief Security Officer at Levy Restaurants, where they conduct internal investigations and mitigates risks to minimize the company's overall exposure.
Prior to their current role, Georgas held the position of Chief Security Officer at the Metropolitan Pier & Exhibition Authority from 2016 to 2020. In this role, they oversaw security operations and ensured the safety of the organization.
Before joining the private sector, Georgas worked for the Chicago Police Department for many years. Steve served as the Deputy Chief of the Special Functions Division, where they established policies and provided oversight for various specialized units within the department. Georgas also served as the Executive Officer (Deputy Chief) of the Bureau of Patrol from 2012 to 2014.
Throughout their career, Georgas has demonstrated their expertise in security, investigations, and risk management, making him a valuable asset in their current role as Chief Security Officer.
Steve Georgas, CPP, CSSP, holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from the Illinois Institute of Technology, where they studied from an unknown start year until 2002. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement Administration and Sociology from Western Illinois University, completing their studies in 1996.
In addition to their educational achievements, Steve has also obtained several certifications. Steve is a Certified Sport Security Professional (CSSP), which they obtained from the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) in June 2021. Steve is also a member of the ASIS CSO Center, having obtained membership from ASIS International in January 2021. Additionally, they hold the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation, which they received from ASIS International in October 2020.
