Chuck Warta

Operating Partner at Lewis & Clark Agrifood

Chuck Warta brings 30+ years of international experience in agriculture, animal nutrition and food leadership to his current role as an Operating Partner at Lewis & Clark AgriFood. Before joining the Lewis and Clark team, he spent 3 decades leading businesses at Cargill, most recently as the President of Cargill Health Technologies.

Mr. Warta’s experiences include serving as President of Cargill Animal Nutrition’s premix & nutrition business globally where he was responsible for serving customers in more than 100 markets, leading more than 7,000 employees and 50 facilities across 26 countries. He completed multiple international assignments, including as the Business Unit Leader of Cargill Meats Thailand, a fully integrated poultry operation with 13,000 employees serving food customers in 27 countries.

Throughout his career, Chuck held leadership oversight for many key Cargill Animal Nutrition growth markets such as the United States, China, Thailand, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. Prior to his retirement from Cargill, Chuck and his family had lived in 7 different states and 4 different countries.

Chuck was directly involved in over a dozen M+A transactions, led multiple minority investments and served on the investment board of Cargill’s Venture Capital team.

Beyond Cargill, Chuck served on the board of directors and executive committee with International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF), currently serves on the board of Heifer International and was recently voted onto the Kansas State University Board of Trustees, where he is also an Associated Faculty in the Staley School of Leadership Studies.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture economics from Kansas State University and was named the Kansas State University Agriculture Alumni Fellow in 2018.
