Norma Velazquez-Ulloa is an Associate Professor at Lewis & Clark College since August 2019, having previously served as an Assistant Professor at the same institution from August 2013 to August 2019. Norma has an extensive background in neuroscience, including a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California San Francisco from August 2010 to June 2013, where research focused on developing a Drosophila model to study nicotine's effects on development and drug-induced behaviors. Prior to that, Norma was involved in postdoctoral research and graduate studies at the University of California at San Diego from 2003 to 2010, studying neuronal differentiation in the brain and spinal cord. Additionally, teaching experience includes serving as a teaching assistant for graduate courses and teaching English as a second language in Mexico from 2001 to 2003. Norma holds a PhD in Neurosciences from UC San Diego and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
