April Colburn has held various roles in the media and publishing industry since 2011. From 2011 to 2014, they served as a Campus Staff for Reformed University Fellowship, where they mentored and counseled college students, planned and managed events and trips for 250+ students, and conducted multiple meetings with students for teaching/counseling purposes. From 2013 to 2016, they worked at Time Inc. as an Editorial Assistant and Editorial Fellow, where they developed and executed book and special edition magazine concepts, drafted creative briefs, collaborated with test kitchen and photography teams, and provided editorial support in all aspects of book publishing. From 2016 to 2018, they worked at Meredith Corporation as an Assistant Editor, where they empowered readers to cook, decorate, entertain, and live well through creating inspiring and informative lifestyle books for top-tier brands, cast vision for market-savvy book and special editing magazine concepts, and breathed life into them through superior planning, attention to detail, and collaboration. From 2018 to 2019, they worked at Alabama Media Group as a Copyeditor & Proofreader. From 2019 to present, they have worked at Lewis as a Content Planning Supervisor and Content Planning Manager, where they are responsible for content strategy creation, content plan development, and search engine optimization. April also currently works at BMSS, LLC as a Marketing Coordinator.

April Colburn completed their high school diploma at Briarwood Christian School in 2007. April then attended Auburn University and received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English in 2011. April has also obtained certifications from Meltwater in Media Monitoring with Explore: Foundations and Social Listening with Explore: Advanced in October 2022, and from Semrush in SEO Fundamentals Course with Greg Gifford in December 2022.
