Michael has more than 30 years of experience in intellectual property law, particularly in the fields of fashion, retailing, insurance, health care, mineral products, skin care, cosmetics, nutritional supplements, energy drinks, food, and beverage products.
Michael has extensive experience in trademark clearance, counseling, prosecution, and transfers of ownership, both U.S.-based and international. He is experienced in use of the Madrid Protocol, a cost-effective means of securing trademark protection in over 80 countries. He regularly handles trademark opposition proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, as well as infringement claims and letters of protest with the Commissioner, disputes, and intellectual property due diligence. Michael has been active in the International Trademark Association as a committee member for many years and is a frequent presenter of Table Topics at the Annual Meeting.
