Jon Torsch

Jon Torsch is an experienced educator currently serving as a High School Mathematics Teacher at Lewiston Public Schools since August 2023. Torsch has previously taught Grade 8 Mathematics at Portland Public Schools from July 2022 to August 2023 and held various mathematics teaching roles at RSU5, including a position as Co-Advisor for the Gender and Sexuality Alliance. Earlier experience includes long-term substitute teaching in mathematics and a background in engineering, having worked as an Electrical Engineer II at POWER Engineers, focusing on SCADA systems. Torsch holds a Master of Education in Mathematics Teacher Education from the University of Southern Maine and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from the University of Maine.
