Maria Betts PhD has extensive experience in the field of psychology and therapeutic foster care. Maria began their career as a therapeutic foster parent in 1996 and continued in this role until 2017. In 2008, they joined Northeast Parent and Child Society as a Family Specialist, where they developed service plans, provided case management and therapeutic support to biological and foster families, and focused on stress, anxiety, and trauma in children and adults. In 2015, Maria joined Lexington Center as an Assistant Director of Psychology Support Services. Maria'swork experience showcases their expertise in providing support and care to individuals and families facing various challenges.
Maria Betts PhD earned their Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, General from the University at Albany, SUNY in the years 2004-2008. Maria then pursued their Master of Science (MS) in Psychology from Capella University from 2009 to 2012. Subsequently, Maria obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Health/Medical Psychology from Walden University between 2013 and 2019. In addition, they hold certifications such as NIH certified, SCIP-R certified, and TCI certified, which were obtained in 2013 from Walden University, Northeast Parent and Child Society, and OPWDD respectively.
