Meg Carey is an experienced educator with a strong background in literacy education and English instruction. Currently serving as an English Teacher for Summer Academy at Leyden High School District 212 since August 2014, Meg focuses on enhancing literacy skills for incoming freshmen. In addition, Meg works as a Learning Center Writing Coach, overseeing daily operations and providing targeted writing interventions. Previous roles include academic tutoring at Huntington Learning Center, long-term substituting, and teaching positions within various school districts. Meg holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Science in Literacy Education from Northern Illinois University, where recognition as Graduate Student of the Year was achieved. Additional educational experiences include teaching English Composition at Northeastern University and English literature courses at St. Clement High School. Megan's commitment to student development extends to volunteer work promoting school-community partnerships.
